Sons Gaming LLC Launches in Morgan County with Support from Rural Jump-Start

BRUSH — Today, Governor Polis and the Business Funding and Incentives (BF&I) division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced that Sons Gaming LLC, a company specializing in arcade games and entertainment, has joined the Rural Jump-Start initiative. The company plans to open an arcade and entertainment center in Brush to serve families in Northeast Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming.

“In Colorado, we are helping businesses grow and create new jobs across the state. I welcome and look forward to visiting Sons Gaming to Morgan County which will bring family fun opportunities to Brush, boost the local economy and create new jobs,” said Governor Polis.

Sons Gaming plans to provide a diverse range of classic arcade and video games and a welcoming environment that caters to all age groups, from young children to adults. As Sons Gaming grows, the company plans to add high-fidelity simulators, virtual reality, and escape rooms.

“I am so excited Sons Gaming has been accepted into the Rural Jump-Start program. I look forward to the opportunities it presents for Mile High growth in the community,” said Evan Nicholson, Founder of Sons Gaming.

The Rural Jump-Start program encourages economic development and job creation in economically distressed, rural counties of Colorado. This incentive supports new businesses that start or locate in participating Rural Jump-Start Zones, create new good-paying jobs, and export goods and services to customers outside the Rural Jump-Start Zone. The company will receive $25,000 in grant funding to support the launch of its operations, as well as four years of tax benefits through the Rural Jump-Start program. Eligible employees will also receive a state personal income tax credit while the company is in the program.

“The Rural Jump-Start program is an important tool to support regional economic diversification, create new jobs, and strengthen communities across our state. We are thrilled Sons Gaming selected Brush for their new entertainment center, which will offer a welcoming space and diversify the local economy,” said Eve Lieberman, OEDIT Executive Director.

Sponsoring entities like Morgan County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) help identify business candidates in their communities and work with each business to help ensure its success in the program and in the community.

“Sons Gaming represents exactly the kind of entrepreneurial investment we are excited to support through the Rural Jump-Start Program. Not only is Evan creating a new business, but he is bringing a unique family entertainment destination to Morgan County that will provide residents and visitors with new opportunities to connect, gather, and have fun. We are excited to see Son's Gaming grow and look forward to the positive impact it will have on our community and local economy,” stated Kristin Clifford-Basil, MCEDC Executive Director.
