Dave Young is a native Coloradan who started his career as an educator. He ran for office in 2011 and was elected to the Colorado House of Representatives, where he served on the state’s budget committee. Young was sworn in as Colorado State Treasurer in 2019 and reelected in 2022. During his tenure, he spearheaded the creation of the Colorado SecureSavings Program—one of the country’s first state-facilitated auto-IRA plans—and a small business loan program.
