Tim Hoppin is Managing Director on Lument’s Affordable Housing Production team. Mr. Hoppin has over 20 years of experience in the affordable housing finance industry. His experience includes underwriting, asset managing, and structuring construction and permanent loans as a banker/originator. He has worked on a wide variety of affordable deals with multiple layers of subordinate debt and grants. He has also worked extensively on financings that include ground leases and project-based Section 8 HAP contracts. His career began at Newman Capital/GMAC Commercial Mortgage, and through a series of mergers and acquisitions, evolved into one at Capmark and then Citi Community Capital. Mr. Hoppin has been with Lument for over eight years and his current role includes originating and structuring affordable, workforce and conventional debt products with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA.
Mr. Hoppin received his MBA in Finance from the University of Denver and a B.S. in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He has three wonderful children and enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, fly fishing, trail running and spending time with his family in the outdoors in his free time.
